Salt cod dishes – (bacalao in Spanish and bacallà in Catalan). These delicious dishes include the following:
- bacallà a la llauna (salt cod baked in olive oil)
- bacallà amb samfaina (salt cod with aubergine, sweet peppers, onion and tomatoes)
Other tasty dishes include the truita amb suc (spinach omelette with tomato sauce), trinxat (mashed potatoes and cabbage).

Just off La Rambla is the amazing La Boqueria Market, one of the largest indoor food markets in Spain, and also one of the most beautiful.
