Barcelona Trains - Barcelona Airport Train

Train Travel In Spain

Barcelona trains include the main local suburban train service FCG (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya) which runs from Plaça Catalunya.

It looks the same as the metro and has 2 lines operating in Barcelona and another 4 lines which go to towns close by such as Sans Cugat, Terrassa and Sabadell.

All Spanish trains are operated by RENFE and since July 2006 Barcelona transport includes a new line from Barcelona airport to the city center.

Barcelona Airport Train

Line 10 links the airport with Sants and França stations. The train stops at the Airport - El Prat de Llobregat and then stops at the following stations - Bellvitge, Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gracia (this stop is a 10 minute walk from Plaça Catalunya in the center of town). The last stop is Estació de França which is where you get off if you're staying in El Born. The journey takes 32 minutes and trains come every 30 minutes.

The train comes approximately every 30 minutes from 6.00am to 11.40pm and terminates at Estacio Franca (Av. del Marques d'Argentera s/n Barceloneta) which is just a few minutes walk from the beach.

Tip! - Estaciò Franca is the best station to get off at if you're staying in El Born or the Barcelona Gothic Quarter.

Estacio Sants is the main Barcelona station for national and international journeys.
