Girona Airport, Barcelona Airports

Girona Airport is one of two airports you will arrive at if flying to Barcelona with Ryan Air. The other is Reus airport which is also outside Barcelona.

With both the journey into the city of Barcelona will take just over an hour.

The airport is 85 kilometres from Barcelona and close to the Costa Brava, the Pyrenees and the city of Girona.

TAXI

If you want to take a taxi there are many outside Arrivals, however, this form of transport can work out very expsensive so unless you can afford approximately 150 euros, your better off taking the following.

BUS - (Airport of Girona-Costa Brava - Barcelona Estació Nord)

Although the bus takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to travel to the city of Barcelona, this is the cheapest and easiest way to get there. You can't miss the buses as they are just outside the terminal - buses back to the airport run every 30mins.

The bus is not operated by Ryan Air but by the bus company Sagalés so for departure and arrival times and fares, consult their website or telephone 0034-902 361 550. If your flight is late, Ryan Air have arranged for the bus to wait for you. However, on your return journey to the airport be on time. If you are late the flight will leave on time without you.

Tickets cost €12.00 for a single journey and €21.00 return. The bus arrives at Barcelona's main bus terminal at Estació del Nord in the Eixample district. Nearest metro stations are at Tetuan and Arc De Triumf.

TRAIN to Barcelona

There isn't a train or metro station at the airport so if you want to take the train, take a taxi into Girona town (10kms from airport). Trains are quite regular and arrive at Barcelona Sants station - RENFE website.

Cafes/Restaurants

The Food Gallery is the only catering outlet in the check-in lobby. On the departures floor Medas cafeteria-restaurant serves hamburgers, sausages, hot and cold sandwiches and a la carte dishes. Ready serves drinks, coffee, soft drinks, juices, etc.
