Nightlife in Barcelona doesn't really get going until after 12.00pm and goes on until the wee small hours of the morning. However if you just want to take in the sights then head for Placa Espanya and you can enjoy the stunning Magic Fountain which is just below Palau Nacional - Thurs-Sunday 8pm until 12pm during summer / 7-9pm from Oct-April.


Barcelona is overflowing with cafes and bars, champagne and cocktail bars there are many lovely restaurants. Nightlife in Barcelona isn't complete without a visit to one of the many clubs, discos or clubs with live shows where you can enjoy all the latest popular music, jazz, flamenco, rock and salsa.


Eixample District

There are many open-air terraces where you can enjoy a drink in Placa Catalunya and the Eixample district is full of clubs, discotheques, cafes and bars.


Barcelona Gothic Quarter / La Ribera-El Born / La Rambla

Enjoy a stroll along La Rambla and the nearby historical areas of the Gothic Quarter and El Born. This is a great area to enjoy Barcelona nightlife as there's so much to do. You can wine and dine at one of the many restaurants or bars in Rambla.


As well as the beach-side restaurants and clubs you can also visit the stunning area of Montjuic which is great for romantic evening walks. There are many festivals held in this area and at the foot of Montjuic is Palau Nacional and the amazing Magic Fountain.


Barceloneta & Waterfront

This beach-side area of Barcelona is famous for its fashionable and trendy fish restaurants.


At Port Olimpic there's a great selection of bars and discos alongside the yachting marina. You can wine and dine on the outdoor terraces of bars and restaurants end enjoy views of the Mediterranean sea and the Barcelona beaches. Many have great entertainment especially during the summer and most places stay open until around 3.00am.


Ramble de Mar & Maremagnum

Maremagnum BarcelonaFurther along the waterfront at the end of La Rambla is Port Vel and not far from the Columbus Monument is Rambla de Mar which is a continuation of La Rambla.


This is a great spot for strolling along the harbor and inside is Maremagnum full of shops, restaurants, pubs, clubs and bars and 12 cinemas which show films in their original version with sub-titles.
