barcelona airport busThe main airport is located 12 km (7 miles) south-west of the city of Barcelona in the area of El Prat del Llobregat and is called El Prat.

To reach the center of town from the airport you can take the airport bus (runs every 9mins) or the train which runs every 30 mins from 6.13am till 11.43pm Mon-Fri.

Note :  There is no metro at the airport but the Renfe Train is just a few minutes walk from any terminal. Trains run every 30 minutes (6:00-23:00) to the city center.

You can catch the train from Clot, Passeig de Gracia, or Barcelona Sants (Sants Estacio). The name of the stop you want for the airport is Aeropuerto.

If you travel by train to  Barcelona it will take longer than flying,  but there are high speed trains  connecting  to all major cities in Spain such Madrid, Valencia and Alicante.
