As one of the most popular destinations in the world there are many low cost flights to Barcelona. Easy Jet fly to El Prat airport and Ryan Air fly to Reus and Girona airports which are just over an hours journey from town.

Barcelona Airport is located 12 km (7 miles) south-west of the city of Barcelona in the area of El Prat del Llobregat. The airport name is El Prat and the airport has three terminals. Terminal A and B are for international flights and Terminal C for flights to Madrid and other Spanish destinations.

To reach the center of town from the airport you can take the airport bus (runs every 9mins) or the train which runs every 30 mins from 6.13am till 11.43pm Mon-Fri. Airport taxis are good and fares vary depending on the time of day you arrive.

An exciting way to reach Barcelona is by train. If you're coming from London you take the Eurostar from St Pancras in London to PARIS (2 hours and fifteen minutes), then the 'Trainhotel Elipsos' night-train to Barcelona.

The Port of Barcelona is where you'll find many luxury cruises and also daily ferries to the nearby Balearic Islands of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza. There are also ferries to Civitavecchia and Genoa in Italy and Tangier in Morroco.

It's a good idea to hire a car on-line but if you prefer you can always hire a car when you reach the airport or your hotel.
