Summer in Barcelona

The weather in Barcelona is warm during the long summer months and can reach up to over 30 degree during the months of July and August.

This is the time when many people escape the heat of the city and head for the beautiful Barcelona beaches.

May to September

If you prefer the weather not too hot and not too cold then the best months to come to Barcelona are during May and September. You can still go swimming and sunbathing but the heat is not so intense so you'll feel more like discovering the wonders of this amazing city.

Winter

The climate in Barcelona Spain during the winter months is much cooler so you need to wrap up warm with coats and scarves. You also need an umbrella (el paraguas) as it often rains in Spring and Autumn and especially during the months of April, September and October.

The Costa Brava

The Costa Brava is not far away and many people living in Barcelona escape the heat of the city in August by taking their holidays to local seaside resorts where the beaches are less crowded.

Skiing in Barcelona

If you like skiing the nearby mountains are covered with snow during the winter months and there is a ski resort just an hours drive from the center of Barcelona.
